A private notebook for every player, with markers you can walk to.
PlayerNotes gives every player a private notebook for their map spots, with word search, closest first sorting, and a glowing marker they can walk to.
I built PlayerNotes for servers where people keep forgetting where they left things. Every player gets their own notebook that nobody else can read. They save the spot they are standing on, search their notes by word, and ask which saved spot is closest right now. Notes live in SQLite with no setup at all, or in MySQL when you want one notebook shared across a whole cluster.
| Command | What It Does | Where |
|---|---|---|
PlayerNotes.Reload |
Reads config.json and the language file again, with no restart. | Both |
PlayerNotes.Wipe <eos> |
Deletes every note belonging to one player, found by their EOS id. | Console |
Command words live in config.json, so you can rename /note and the show word to anything you like.
| Command | What It Does |
|---|---|
/note |
Shows the first page of your notes. |
/note <number> |
Reads one note on its own, with how far away it is and when you saved it. |
/note list <page> |
Shows another page of your notes. |
/note add <text> |
Saves a note with whatever you type. |
/note here <label> |
Saves a note pinned to the spot you are standing on. |
/note find <word> |
Searches your notes and shows the ones that match. |
/note near |
Lists your saved spots, closest to you first. |
/note show <number> |
Lights that saved spot up with a glowing ball you can walk to. |
/note delete <number> |
Removes one note. |
/note clear |
Removes all of your notes. |
| Node | What It Unlocks |
|---|---|
The node you pick in UsePermission |
Locks notes to players who hold that node. Leave the setting empty and every player can use notes. |
You pick the node name yourself in the config, so it fits whatever groups you already run. If Permissions is not installed, PlayerNotes lets everyone use notes rather than locking them out.

What does PlayerNotes do?
PlayerNotes gives every player on your server a private notebook. They can write a note, save the exact spot they are standing on, search everything they wrote, and ask which saved spot is nearest. Notes are per player, so nobody can read or delete anyone else's.
How do I install PlayerNotes?
Stop the server, unzip the PlayerNotes folder into ArkApi/Plugins/, then start the server again with AsaApiLoader.exe. Open config.json first if you want to change the language or the limits. PlayerNotes builds its own database table on the first start, so there is nothing to import.
Can players read each other's notes?
No. PlayerNotes ties every note to the player who wrote it, and the list, read and delete commands only ever touch your own. The only way to remove someone else's notes is the PlayerNotes.Wipe console command, which an admin runs from the server console.
Do I need MySQL or any other plugin to run it?
No. PlayerNotes uses SQLite by default, which is a plain file and needs no setup. Switch to MySQL only if you want one notebook shared across a cluster. Permissions is optional, and the free ASA API Utils mod is optional too. Without the mod you lose the boxes on screen and the glowing marker, and everything else still works.
What is the glowing marker for?
When a player types the show command with a note number, PlayerNotes draws a glowing ball in the world at that saved spot so they can walk straight to it. You pick the colour, the size, how long it lasts, and whether only that player, their tribe, or everyone can see it. It needs the free ASA API Utils mod.
Was any AI content used in the making of this?
The source code itself was fully created by myself. I do use ChatGPT occasionally to generate product images, and I do use ChatGPT to generate the website descriptions. I do this because I don't speak native English perfectly. I am natively from Sweden, so I use GPT to help translate and write product descriptions. I also will sometimes use GPT to write better English logs. Majority of my Free plugins are open source, so you can review the code yourself and freely fork and edit it to your liking.
