What is Tebex?
- Tebex is an online monetization platform that nearly all server admins and server owners use to help generate income for their gaming servers. Tebex is widely respected and used by most server communities to automate income with in-game rewards. Tebex has been a fellow partner with GSH for many years, and GSH has created the Ark: Survival Evolved plugin that has benefited Tebex.
What is the freelancer update, and why is this important to us?
- I'm glad you asked! The freelancer update is a significant update that will convert the marketplace to allow all types of content to be sold on the marketplace; the current system only allows for game-related plugins or game-related resources. The new system will allow web developers, discord developers, and freelancing opportunities like server configurations. You no longer have to be just a C++ developer to sell content; you can now sell your skill set on the marketplace. This update is crucial because it will create thousands of new job opportunities for everyone using the site and allow us to grow and expand the site outside of Ark-related content.
What does this mean for resource sellers?
- This is good news for resource sellers. Our old system only allows five payment options, while the Tebex update brings over 50-100+ payment methods that customers can use when purchasing resources on the marketplace. Resource sellers will earn MORE INCOME due to more acceptable payment provider methods. This update also brings "Chargeback Protection" for every single resource seller; no more do you have to ever worry about a customer scamming or charging back.
What are the benefits of the new system?
- You now have over 50-100+ payment methods customers can use when buying your resource. This will dramatically increase your ability to generate more overall lifetime sales.
- Chargeback protection is now included for every resource seller, and no questions have been asked.
- Everyone on the website can now sell resources without needing to purchase the monthly subscription role to sell resources.
- The website traffic volume has been rapidly growing over the past few years, and on average, from GA4 results, we average anywhere from 50,000 - 150,000 monthly unique web visitors. By using the freelancer update to your advantage, you can tap into a wide audience range that will benefit you. Please take advantage of that opportunity and use it to grow your services.
Why take a fee from sellers?
- The rationale behind GSH's decision to levy a fee on their marketplace may be of interest to some. It is worth noting that the website was entirely self-funded during the ArkServerApi and GameServersHub era, with any investments for new site features being financed out of pocket. While this may have proved to be a convenient method for site sellers, it is not a sustainable approach for the website to continue thriving. To ensure the website's continued growth and survival, a small fee will now be charged on the marketplace. This will allow the website to self-fund itself and make more investments towards its growth, ultimately benefiting the consumers who use the website. It is worth emphasizing that the investments made will significantly benefit the consumers, and this fee-based approach will promote greater sustainability and reliability.
- On average, a marketplace seller can make hundreds if not thousands of dollars in their lifetime, while top sellers have made tens of thousands of dollars selling resources. GameServersHub generates 50-150k in monthly unique web traffic, which is highly beneficial for resource sellers as that's unique visitors they can tap into every month. With the addition of chargeback protection for every seller, it's only fair that the marketplace takes a small fee from sellers to pay the website's operational costs.
