Hey Guest, I’ve got some exciting news to share! 🎉

Starting this December, I’ll be moving the entire GameServersHub website away from WordPress and rebuilding it in Next.js! This upgrade will bring incredibly faster speeds, smoother performance, and a modern user experience that sets the stage for everything coming next.

In 2026, GameServersHub will be entering a new era. I’ll be revamping the entire platform from the ground up and launching a brand-new, fully modernized marketplace. It’ll feature a cleaner design, improved functionality, and better tools for both creators and server owners.

On top of that, development has already started on the GameServerListing project at https://gsl-six.vercel.app/, which is expected to launch in early Q1 2026. This new system will make discovering and managing servers easier than ever before.

Hello there,

I am in the process of setting up a new multiplayer game server and could use some advice from those of you who have experience in this area.

I am planning to host a game server for a popular online multiplayer game. My goal is to provide a smooth and enjoyable experience for players; so I am keen to ensure that I set everything up correctly from the start.

What are the recommended hardware and software specs for running a server of this type? I want to make sure I have enough resources to handle a large number of concurrent players without performance issues.

Is it better to go with a dedicated server or a VPS? What are the pros and cons of each; especially in terms of cost; performance; and scalability?

Are there any specific configurations or settings that are crucial for optimizing server performance and stability? For example; any particular network settings or game-specific tweaks?

What server management tools or control panels do you recommend for ease of administration?

Also, I have gone through this post; https://gameservershub.com/forums/threads/how-to-uipath-configure-a-dedicated-game-server%EF%BC%9F.88/page-2 which definitely helped me out a lot.

What are common issues that arise with game servers, and how can they be addressed preemptively?

Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.

Hello, here is the best performance you can consider:
  • Hardware: High single-core CPU (e.g., Ryzen 7/i7+), 32–64 GB RAM, NVMe SSD, 1 Gbps+ network.
  • OS: Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS) is preferred for stability.
  • Dedicated = better performance, control, supports many players.
  • VPS = cheaper, fine for small servers (<30 players).
  • Optimize: Disable CPU throttling, tune TCP stack, keep software updated.
  • Management tools: Pterodactyl Panel, AMP, or LinuxGSM.
