Introduction: GameServersHub is excited to announce that we are official partners with Tebex; this partnership will benefit our developers and fellow site users who use our affiliate-related links. Tebex has agreed to allow GameServersHub to be one of the very few partners that have access to the Tebex Checkout system, which is a payment provider system that works exclusively with companies rather than video game servers.
What is Tebex?: Tebex is an online payment provider platform popularly used by gaming servers to host and automate in-game sales while making their servers income. Tebex was recently acquired by Overwolf and has had a change in leadership which intends to work with some of the largest gaming companies in the industry.
Why is this Important?: This new system will allow developers better seller protection and also provide developers with better tools needed to help automate sales and license creation. It's widely known that Tebex is the leading payment provider in the gaming industry world. GameServersHub is the first and only marketplace website with this feature created for fellow developers, as it's an exclusive partnership with Overwolf directly.
How is this different than Paypal?: Sadly, because of the politics at play, Paypal has become more radical when punishing its site users, and many fellow developers have been banned from using Paypal services since Paypal requires in their AUP policy to get pre-approval for sales on marketplace forums or websites such as GameServersHub.com. As a result, GameServersHub takes a neutral stance with allowing Paypal on the platform. Still, we strongly encourage developers to switch to the Tebex payment provider platform as it will dramatically decrease your chances of running into issues that Paypal provides. Paypal has recently created a new policy that they have legal rights to charge you $2,500 USD if they believe your account is spreading misinformation; GameServersHub is not a fan of significant payment providers telling you what you can or can't do with your hard earn money no corporation should have the control to take your money away from you it's wrong and borderline criminal. Tebex being an official partner with GameServersHub.com means it's someone we trust to handle your income honestly and truthfully when selling plugins/mods/resources you've developed.
New Features:
- 100% Chargeback protection from scammers. No more worrying about an upset customer charging back, ruining your Paypal reputation, and potentially being banned from Paypal. We will be updating our TOS policies to ensure that both seller/buyer has site protection from resources being sold. Developers who abuse the chargeback protection will lose selling rights and possibly be banned.
- Improved automation system that developers can use to help automate license creation.
- Alternative from using Paypal, If you've been banned in the past by Paypal for AUP or other Paypal violations, this new Tebex partnership will allow you to generate income from your development resources with a much safer option to generate income.
- GameServersHub will get an exclusive 14-30 day trial affiliate code that new customers can use when using Tebex.
- Tebex doesn't require hardcore verification when creating accounts; unlike Paypal, Tebex doesn't ask for your photo ID and other verification steps that would invade your online privacy. Creating a Tebex account is much simpler and safer than creating a Paypal account.
When will this go live?: The feature is already deployed live on the site; you can head to https://gameservershub.com/forums/resources/market-place-dashboard/payment-data and go ahead and set up your Tebex information. However, we are not finished creating the addon; we are roughly 85-95% completed; we have to fix some bugs backend then it will be 100% up and running!
How exactly does this new system work?:
- Head over to: (Add Payment Provider).
- Select the "Tebex" option and fill out the information required.
- You can locate your Tebex wallet address by going here https://wallet.tebex.io/withdraw, and clicking "My Details" will display your wallet address. Please be sure to create a free https://tebex.io/ account first.
- Then when a customer purchases the resource you have for sale, they can select the Tebex option; I would disable the Paypal option and use Tebex only rather than using both; that way, you have the seller chargeback protection. The system works when a customer purchases your resource; it redirects them to the Tebex checkout system, which they then fill out and purchase. Then the customer will automatically unlock the plugin license. All resource sales will be deposited directly into your Tebex wallet address; you don't need to purchase an online web store with Tebex to use their wallet system.
